Description

Garniture of Three Antique Coalbrookdale Porcelain Vases, circa 1840 A fine and decorative garniture of three early Victorian Coalbrookdale-style porcelain vases, dating to around 1840. Each vase is lavishly adorned with applied encrusted flowers in vibrant polychrome colours, surrounding finely hand-painted landscape panels depicting idyllic classical and rural scenes. The bodies are moulded with scrolled handles and shaped, flared rims, with further gilt detailing throughout. The central vase features a temple landscape, flanked by two companion vases with rural cottages and Gothic ruins. The tallest vase measures approximately 35 cm in height, the smaller pair 31.5 cm. Condition: Good overall. Small chip to the rim of the larger vase. Minor losses to the floral encrustations, typical for the type. Small flake losses to the painted reserves. No structural cracks or restoration observed. A highly decorative and collectable set from the early Victorian period.
