Description

Pair of 18th-Century English Blue & White Porcelain Bowls A finely matched pair of English porcelain soup bowls, each with gently scalloped and moulded rims, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with stylised sprays of fruit and flowers, accompanied by scattered floral sprigs. The crisp floral motifs and the quality of the porcelain are highly indicative of the Caughley manufactory or early Coalport production—both renowned for their elegant table wares in the late 18th century. Unmarked, as was common for the period, but the form, glaze, and decoration strongly support this attribution. Diameter: 25.5 cm Condition: Good antique condition with some light surface scratches and wear, commensurate with age. No chips, cracks or repairs. Minor kiln flaws and glaze irregularities typical of the period.
