Antique Brass Oil Lamp by Wright & Butler, Birmingham – “The Union Burner” A fine late 19th century brass oil lamp by Wright & Butler of Birmingham, fitted with The Union Burner mechanism. The lamp features a well-balanced urn-shaped body with gadrooned detailing to the base and shoulder, a fluted circular foot, and a clear glass chimney. The burner is stamped “The Union Burner, Wright & Butler, Birmingham”—one of the firm’s well-known designs, renowned for their efficient and reliable flame control. Origin: England, Birmingham Maker: Wright & Butler Date: Circa 1880–1890 Height: 53 cm (including chimney) Good antique condition with typical age-related wear, light tarnish and minor surface marks. Some oxidisation to the underside and burner consistent with age and use.
