Description
A fine quality French Belle Époque mantel clock, circa 1900, with eight-day movement by Samuel Marti.
The arched mahogany case is embellished with brass stringing and inlaid foliate detail to the front panel.
Mounted to each side with cast brass lion mask handles and raised on four brass bracket feet.
The white enamel dial features black Arabic numerals, pierced gilt hands, and twin winding holes.
Bevelled glass door with brass bezel.
The clock houses a clean eight-day movement, striking the hours and half-hours on a coiled gong.
Stamped to the backplate with the Marti medaille d’or (gold medal) award mark.
In very good condition throughout with only light age-related wear.
Dial clean and free from damage.
The movement is complete and ticking when tested.
