WWI British Victory Medal (1914-1919) – Named to Pte. F. Howarth 
This is an original WWI Victory Medal, awarded to Private F. Howarth, service number 2725, from the East Lancashire Regiment. 

Obverse: Features Winged Victory, holding a laurel branch and extending her left arm in a gesture of peace. Designed by W. McMillan. Struck in gilded bronze. 

Reverse: Inscribed: "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919", surrounded by a laurel wreath. 

Edge Inscription: Clearly engraved: "2725 PTE. F. HOWARTH E. LAN. R." This confirms the recipient's service in the East Lancashire Regiment. 

Suspension & Condition: Missing original ribbon. Some wear and patina, but the details remain clear. 

Historical Significance: The WWI Victory Medal was awarded to all personnel who served in a theatre of war between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918. 
Often issued alongside the British War Medal, forming part of a medal pair (or trio with the 1914/15 Star). 
The East Lancashire Regiment saw extensive service, including in France, Belgium, Gallipoli, and Mesopotamia.
