Now the sunny days have finally appeared with us again, you’re probably itching to get out into your outside space and relax and enjoy the rays. If however (like us) your garden isn’t fully decked out, do not panic, here, we'll explore how you can find the perfect furniture to enhance your garden without breaking the bank.

The advantages of online auctions

Online auctions provide many advantages when it comes to purchasing garden furniture. Here you’ll find a wide selection of items, both brand new and pre-loved. These will include excess and liquidated stock, retail returns, which can be in a variety of conditions, sometimes graded returns and older, rarer pieces that are being sold on.  Of course bidding for all of these in auction offers you the chance to really get your hands on a bargain! So, whether you fancy a lovely new set of rattan for your patio, or a simple garden chair, you can discover them here and following the points below you'll be on to a winner.

Study descriptions

Whatever you’re buying we also advise you to carefully read the item descriptions so you have a clear idea of what you’re looking at. We encourage our vendors to include as much information as possible. Look out for details about the furniture's dimensions, materials, brand, and any notable features and any marks or signs of wear. Pay attention to these factors to ensure you have a clear understanding of the item's condition before placing a bid. If you feel like there’s information you’d like to know that is missing, just drop us a message using our live chat function.

Examine photos

Image are crucial when buying online as you can’t (usually) get to the item you’re interested in before you’ve bought it. Scrutinise the photos provided and check out the furniture from different angles. If not new, look for any signs of wear, discolouration, or damage. If the photos are unclear or insufficient, don't hesitate to get in touch and request additional pictures or information. You should see plenty of images within our auctions though as we don’t put a limit on how many can be uploaded – the more the merrier!

Set your budget

We always advise that before participating in any auction, you determine your budget and set a maximum bid that you're comfortable with. Take into account any additional costs such as shipping fees, which are clearly set out in the auction details. Once you’ve placed your starting bid, we’ll let you know if someone places a higher one and you can then decide how far you want to go.

Understand the fees

There are costs you’ll need to add these onto whatever the final hammer value is of the item you’re bidding for. Buyer’s Premium (or BP) varies between auctions, then you sometimes have VAT of 20% on top of that. Then there’s just the delivery cost to factor in. You might be able to collect your purchase depending on where and what it is. Again, the information is shown within the details of each auction.

Buying garden furniture from online auctions opens up a world of possibilities to find unique, high-quality pieces at competitive prices. With these tips in mind, you can confidently navigate the online auction world and find the perfect garden furniture to transform your outdoor space into a captivating oasis.
